Puppy training classes

Taylor Veterinary Practice now provides a complete training programme for puppies aged 8 weeks - 12 months.

Headstart Puppy Programme: a 4 week course specifically designed for puppies aged 8 weeks - 12 weeks, puppies are taught basic obedience alongside a complete programme that tackles early issues such as biting and house training. Participants learn how to understand how their puppy is learning and how to shape their dog to become a valued family pet. Notes, handouts and back up advice given.

Clicker Cadets: a 6 week clicker training course for puppies aged 4 months - 6 months. Each class focuses on teaching owners some basic foundation behaviours that train the dog to exercise self control whilst building a strong relationship between dog and owner. Owners learn how to read their dog’s body language and understand how their dog is learning.

All classes are taught by Clare Russell, a fully qualified Pet Behaviour Therapist at our new training room in The Village, East Kilbride.

Please note these classes are not suitable for dogs that are over 12 months or show aggression towards other dogs or people, however, private training or behaviour consultations are available - please contact your nearest surgery or speak to your vet for more information.
